So here’s the deal… for my final project in “Art and Clothing”, I am really interested in telling the stories behind what people wear. Clothing=communication… sooo, what would you like to communicate?
I’m going to be collecting stories about people’s favorite things to wear, and then constructing a series of representative garments that have the story displayed on them in some fashion… through pictures, symbols, text, etc.
So here’s where you come in:
What is your favorite thing to wear? And why? If you don’t have a favorite, anything with significance will do. Just share your story. Also, it doesn’t have to be a garment necessarily. It can be jewelry, an accessory, or even a tattoo. I’m leaving it open-ended. If you have anything to share, leave it in my comments section, or if your story is very personal, you can email it to me (here I should point out that, yes your story(ies) will be on display for my final, but they will be anonymous).

After a proposal discussion with my teacher and classmates, it was decided that the piece would be stronger if I kept it at one type of garment… so, I’m going with shirts, since so far, I’m finding people to have strong attachments mostly to shirts.
